OCTOBER REFLECTION

As I said in my October favourites, this month has been the best of the year so far. There's been so much going on and so many exciting things happening, I feel so grateful and happy when I look back on October because I don't think I can think of one bad thing that's happened. For the first time all year, I've actually been excited to write this reflection post.

First up - Blogtober! Today is the 1st of November, meaning I've done Blogtober and it's over and I did it. I am SO ridiculously proud of myself for managing to daily blog and have actual substantial ideas for every single day. There's not been a day that I've had to rush to get a post up, everything had been finished in advance and it was a massive weight off my shoulders. Bullet journalling helped me a lot to plan out what I needed to do to finish a post before the deadline, so I've really felt the benefits of that this month. Being completely honest, I was expecting to hate daily blogging and the pressure associated with it, but any dread of negative misconceptions I had about it completely disappeared by halfway through the month. It has inspired so many ideas and now I'm even more excited for Blogmas! I think it'll be really weird to go back to my regular schedule, not that that's gonna happen for a while because I'm going to be posting once every 2 days in November due to having too many ideas that I can't wait until January to create. Full steam ahead until 2018!

Also this month, I turned 20 years old. It sounds ridiculously old to me but it's not at all, it's still so young. The loss of the -teen has completely thrown me though and I feel like I'm an adult now which is completely terrifying and I don't want to have to start being an adult. I'm gonna have to start thinking about the future and moving out and having a proper life, doing my own cooking and washing. I probably sound like such a princess now and I do know how to cook and do the washing, just my parents do a load almost everyday so I may as well chuck mine in with them.

The best thing that has happened to me this year is definitely getting a puppy. We haven't got her home yet, that's next month, but technically she is ours and I want to cry everyday because of how happy I am. She's a Goldendoodle, like Kimmi was, and she's absolutely tiny. I can't wait to finally meet her, I'm the only one that hasn't out of my parents and siblings, and have a dog in the house again. I loved doing puppy training with Kimmi so I'm definitely going to be there every step of the way with Millie. I've also made her an Instagram account and I'm not even ashamed.

I've actually been to quite a few events this month, which is ridiculously exciting. The first was Cocktails in the City - I was invited to the press preview first to sample some of the cocktails on offer and then I was invited back to the actual event! I had a lot of fun and got a bit too drunk but that's okay, I tried quite a wide range of cocktails and as someone who is not normally a cocktail drinker, it was quite out of my comfort zone, but I have been fully converted and my being able to drink cocktails may actually be very dangerous...

The second event I was invited to was the Debenhams x Patrick Grant Christmas launch, which was completely surreal to be at. I got to see a lot of amazing new releases and chat to a lot of really cool people, including Patrick Grant himself. When I think about that night, it feels like a really distant memory. I feel so lucky to have been invited, it's crazy to think that my little blog is gaining a bit of attention and I'm starting to go to some really cool things. Honestly, I'm so grateful for all the opportunities I get and I'll probably remember meeting Patrick Grant for the rest of my life. That's one for the grandkids!
